On February 27, the "Xiamen Tianwei Tech No.1" piloted satellite carried on the Long March 8 Y2 Carrier Rocket was successfully launched, marking a critical step forward of Xiamen in the commercialization and industrialization of space remote sensing applications, and symbolizing that Xiamen has become one of the most developed cities in high-end equipment manufacturing, aerospace information research and development, and other sectors. As the first urban-custom satellite of Fujian, the Tianwei Tech No.1 satellite will play a critical role in marine monitoring and inspection, natural resource investigation, ecological environment monitoring, forest fire inspection, emergency management, smart agriculture, etc. In the future, more satellites will be launched for Xiamen to form a network, thus further improving its capabilities of satellite operation and development, aerospace knowledge popularization, and aerospace finance. Efforts will be made to foster the "aerospace+" industrial chain and promote multi-directional exchanges and industrial cooperation with BRICS countries and "Belt and Road" countries.
