On January 25, Xiamen Municipal Statistical Bureau announced the national economy operation status of Xiamen in 2021. In 2021, the total economic output of Xiamen reached a new height, with a year-round gross regional production of RMB 703.389 billion, up by 8.1% over the previous year. Multiple major economic indicators led the whole province. In 2021, the added value of industrially strategic emerging sectors above the designed scale throughout the city increased by 19.4%. In 2021, the investment in fixed assets increased by 11.3%, leading the whole province; the total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 12.7%, leading the province in growth rate; the import and export amounts exceeded RMB 400 billion and recorded a new high. Leading the province in resident income, Xiamen boasts per capita disposal income of RMB 64,362, increased by 10.7% YOY.
