Recently, Xiamen Customs has piloted RCEP measures in Xiamen Area of Fujian Pilot Free-trade Zone, including Haicang Port and Xiangyu Comprehensive Bonded Zone. Report has it that Xiamen Customs is one of the 6 customhouses in China that have launched the pilot initiative. RCEP will take effect from January 1, 2022 for ten countries. However, the pilot implementation of RCEP measures has been launched in six customhouses respectively in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Fuzhou and Xiamen before it formally commences. In recent years, RCEP members, as latecomers, have been seizing more and more shares in the foreign trade market of Xiamen. Data shows that in the first ten months of this year in Xiamen, trade with RCEP partners increased by 22.3% year on year; trade with ASEAN countries reached RMB 131.5 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 24.3%, marking the fact that ASEAN has become the largest trade partner of Xiamen.
