As sports products made in Xiamen are taking an increasingly larger market share globally, its gym equipment products are also accepted by more countries. Since 2009, Xiamen has been China's largest manufacturing and export base of sports apparatus and a major export base of sportswear, sports glasses, and outdoor products. It owns multiple local sports brands. Six out of 10 treadmills globally are produced in Xiamen. According to data, Xiamen's import and export value of trades in goods reached 408.15 billion yuan in the first half of 2021, hitting a record high in history. The export value of footwear and sports products led the whole nation. The gym equipment industry also achieved outstanding performance.
