The Ministry of Commerce released on August 9 a list of pilot cities for a special progarm to improve and upgrade the commodity market, in which Xiamen is the only Fujian city enlisted. In May this year, 7 ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission, jointly issued and printed the Special Action Plan (2021-2025) for Improving and Upgrading the Commodity Market, which clearly demands by 2025 the cultivation of a batch of nationwide commodity market demonstration bases featuring remarkable commodity operation, powerful service capability in terms of industrial chain and supply chain, and well-balanced online and offline development. The special action puts forward 11 key tasks around three directions, i.e., to optimize the market environment, to improve the service capability, and to boost innovation and integration. As indicated by the Bureau of Commerce of Xiamen, after being rated as a pilot city and demonstration base, Xiamen will take it as an opportunity to facilitate the all-rounded optimization of its commodity market.
