There will be one more project in the cultural and sports public building cluster of East Coast New Town—Xiamen East Coast Maritime Opera House. This project is reportedly located in Bingzhou Island of East Coast New Town, covering a total land area of 35,266.35 square meters and a gross floor area of 34,800 square meters. With a total investment of about 437 million yuan, it will be built into a maritime opera house (containing 5,000 open-air seats). The project plans to commence at the end of the year and be completed in December 2024. In addition to the maritime opera house, the cultural and sports public building cluster in the East Coast also involves projects like tourist resort hotels, Xiamen Art Museum, and cultural complex city landmark buildings.
