Xiamen made the top 3 long-haul destinations nationwide during the May Day holiday, with a continuously booming tourism market. The city received a total of 3.3261 million visitors and obtained a revenue of 3.427 billion yuan from tourism, up 26.30% and 12.50% over 2019, respectively. An Outstanding performance was seen in its products like recreational vacation tour, family tour, cultural tour, rural tour, coastal tour, street tour, and special night tour. The overall occupancy rate of high-end hotels reached nearly 90%. Also, the May Day holiday saw Xiamen achieve sales of 4.22 billion yuan, rising by 42.6% over the same period in 2020. The city's catering industry recorded an operating income of about 150 million yuan, with an average daily operating income of 30.2 million yuan.
