April 6, 2021 will be the 100th anniversary of Xiamen University. The 100-day countdown to the date began on December 27, when Xiamen University received a total donation of RMB170 million and $1 million. Chen Guoying, chairman of GMTech Group, donated 100 million Yuan to Xiamen University. His donation will be used to set up "Chen Guoying Mathematics and Life Science Breakthrough Awards Fund" to support the mathematic, physical and biopharmaceutical research, innovation and development of Xiamen University. All the donations will be used to prepare for the 100th anniversary celebration, support discipline development, teaching and research, alumni communication, campus construction and promote the University's educational undertakings.
