December 9 witnessed the simultaneous convening of the 2020 Annual Conference of the Summit for Entrepreneurs across the Taiwan Strait in Xiamen and Taipei via video link. It was attended by more than 700 well-known entrepreneurs, heads of industrial and commercial organizations, representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises, and young entrepreneurs from both sides of the strait, to discuss ways to seize the opportunities of the 14th Five-Year Plan and drive the cross-strait industries towards deepening. In spite of the raging COVID-19 pandemic, the general trend of cross-strait integration and development is unstoppable, and the first 10 months of this year has seen a double-digit growth in the cross-strait trade volume. Participants stressed that under the influence of the pandemic, the two sides of the strait should strengthen industrial cooperation and build a cross-strait common market. On December 8, the Forum on Financial Services for Small and Medium-sized Taiwan-funded Enterprises, as a supporting event at the 2020 Annual Conference of the Summit for Entrepreneurs across the Taiwan Strait, was successfully held in Xiamen, with three financial-service cooperation projects targeting small and medium-sized Taiwan-funded enterprises signed on site.
