Xiamen plans to set up November 1st each year as "Xiamen Entrepreneur Day". As a highly active group, Xiamen's private economy has a significant effect on the city's economic development. In the first half of this year, the private economic value added was 123.224 billion yuan, an increase of 1.3%, accounting for 41.8% of Xiamen's GDP and playing an important role in GDP growth. The establishment of "Xiamen Entrepreneur Day" is beneficial to build a good development environment for closing to, reassuring and enriching entrepreneurs, and to create an atmosphere of respecting for entrepreneurs and advocating innovation and entrepreneurship. It will also further stimulate market entities to carry forward entrepreneurship, boost the entrepreneurial enthusiasm, and contribute to comprehensively promoting the high-quality development and transcendence as well as speeding up the construction of an attractive, high-quality, modern and international city.
