August 31st witnessed the convening of Xiamen Electronic Information Industry Development Conference in the International Conference Center. It pooled entrepreneurs and guests engaged in the electronic information industry from all over the country to share business opportunities and seek cooperation, joining hands to build trillion-yuan cluster of electronic information industry in Xiamen. Hu Changsheng, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, attended the conference and delivered a speech to comprehensively introduce the evolution, key development ideas and supporting policies of the electronic information industry in Xiamen. Five distinguished guests of the industry were invited to give on-site sharing on their experience in the development of the industry. 78 projects related to the electronic information industry were signed at the conference site by electronic contract signing, with a total investment of over RMB 80 billion.
The electronic information industry, also known as the sunrise industry, is composed of electronic information manufacturing and software and information technology services. It has now evolved into the first pillar industry in Xiamen, with an industrial scale of nearly RMB 500 billion in 2019. Boasting solid foundation in electronic information industry, Xiamen has now basically formed a new generation of information technology industry system featuring flat panel display, computer and communication equipment, semiconductors and integrated circuits, software and information services. Among the above, flat panel display becomes the city's first industry that achieves an output value of over RMB 100 billion. Tianma 6-Gen flexible AMOLED production line is the flexible AMOLED individual factory with the largest volume in China at present. Hongfa Electroacoustic, Faratronic and Hongxin Electron-Tech are the epitome of the development of electronic components in Xiamen. Xiamen has currently accumulated global influence in computer machines and servers, including electronic components. Xiamen acts as Dell's largest production base worldwide, and it is also the world's largest R&D and production place for touch screen modules. The LED industry has developed by leaps and bounds, giving rise to industry leaders such as San'an Optoelectronics, Changelight and Topstar. Moreover, Xiamen has become the world's largest manufacturing and export base for high-end LED light source products, accounting for nearly 40% of national exports and one third of global output.
