Xiamen held a meeting to accelerate the construction of beautiful Xiamen on June 23. Hu Changsheng, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, was present and delivered a speech, and Zhuang Jiahan, mayor of Xiamen, presided over the meeting. Wei Keliang, chairman of Xiamen Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference attended the meeting.
Hu pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping's high praise of Xiamen as "beautiful garden city" as become a gold name card of Xiamen in the new era, which is a great encouragement and also a great spur for us. Xi's series of innovative ideas, exploration practices and important instructions on Xiamen's ecological environmental protection and urban construction have provided fundamental basis and injected a strong driving force for the construction of beautiful Xiamen. We must bear in mind the instructions and forge ahead, so as to make greater achievements in building a beautiful Xiamen. We must also practice the "wo maintenances" and demonstrate the proper role of Xiamen as an important birthplace and practice place for Xi Jinping's thought on ecological civilization.
The CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee and Xiamen municipal government have studied and formulated the Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of Beautiful Xiamen (2020-2025). It is proposed that by 2025, Xiamen's ecological environment quality and the management level of urban planning and construction will continue to take the lead in the country, the functional quality will be significantly improved, the living environment will be under on-going optimization, and the urban governance will be increasingly harmonious and orderly. Xiamen will be built into a beautiful garden city featuring more modern and international charm, richer Minnan cultural characteristics, and deeper spirit of great love.
