According to the Chinese Government Transparency Index (2019) issued by the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Science, Xiamen is top-ranked with a total score of 81.50 in the comprehensive evaluation among 49 larger municipal governments. This is the second time Xiamen has topped the nation in term of government transparency since 2016.
The evaluation of government transparency in 2019 is mainly based on four indicators: decision-making disclosure, management service disclosure, implementation and result disclosure, and government affairs disclosure. The evaluation results show that the Xiamen municipal government has a comprehensive score of 81.50, making it the only city to score more than 80.
The degree of the government transparency is an important index to measure the business environment of a place. With the continuous improvement of government transparency, the business environment in Xiamen is getting increasingly better, and it has remained in the forefront of China in recent years. The excellent business environment and relatively high government transparency fully demonstrate the open and inclusive city image of Xiamen, laying a solid foundation for Xiamen's great investment promotion and development, as well as the construction of a high-caliber beautiful modern international city.
