According to the 2019 evaluation results on the development quality of national emerging industries model base released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently, the electronic information (optoelectronic display) industry of Xiamen Torch Development Zone for High Technology Industries (XMTORCH) was awarded the highest grade of "five-star". A total of 30 enterprises nationwide were rated as "five star", 2 of which were from Fujian Province.
The national emerging industries model base (hereinafter referred to as "model base") acts as an important carrier for concentrated development of China's manufacturing industry and a supporting force for building a manufacturing power.
XMTORCH aimed at the new generation of display technology in 2019, and promoted the iterative upgrading of industrial development through the introduction of advanced industrial projects. For example, the introduction of Tianma 6-Gen AMOLED project, which has the largest facility investment in the history of Xiamen, has realized the intergenerational upgrading of panel technology in the midstream of Xiamen flat panel display industry; the third phase project of Nippon Electric Glass adds 3 production lines for the LCD glass substrates of 8.5-gen and above and the next-gen display glass substrate, which will drive the further optimization and upgrading of products in the upstream of flat panel display industry.
Led by enterprises in XMTORCH, Xiamen flat panel display industry reached an output value of 146.53 billion yuan in 2019, a year-on-year growth of 10.4%.
