As the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) enters its fourth year of full implementation, cumulative effects are accelerating regional growth. By end-May 2025, Xiamen Customs had issued 74,008 RCEP Certificates of Origin covering goods valued at RMB 30.39 billion, securing approximately RMB 450 million in tariff concessions from importing countries for enterprises. From January to May alone, 10,532 certificates for RMB 4.608 billion worth of exports were issued—a YoY surge of 3.64% and 22% respectively. Key beneficiaries include inorganic chemicals, aluminum products, umbrellas, plastics, apparel, footwear and headwear—all pillar industries of Xiamen. Xiamen Customs' RCEP certificates now cover all member states, with exports to Japan accounting for the largest share.
