On June 4, the Songyu Operation Zone of Xiamen Port simultaneously berthed two ultra-large container vessels: the 16,000-TEU MSC LORENZA (150,000 DWT) and 19,000-TEU MSC SVEVA (200,000 DWT), delivering approximately 13,500 TEUs of cargo. Located in Haicang, the Songyu Operation Zone of Xiamen Port serves as a critical deep-water container terminal complex, encompassing Songyu and Haitong Terminals. It primarily handles international trunk line shipping, container transshipment, and regional logistics hub functions. Benefiting from its adjacency to main shipping channels, superior water depth, and expansive shoreline, the zone is capable of simultaneously accommodating three ultra-large container vessels exceeding 200,000 DWT.
