The 2025 China-Brazil Enterprise Matchmaking Forum & Promotion Event for BRICS Innovation Base and UFRJ Tech Park, co-hosted by the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center (BPIC), ApexBrasil, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and UFRJ Tech Park, successfully concluded on May 19 at UFRJ's Innovation Hall. Nearly 100 delegates from Chinese and Brazilian governmental bodies, enterprises, and academic institutions attended. Capitalizing on Xiamen and Rio de Janeiro's complementary strengths in scientific research and innovation as "BRICS Cities," the event deepened exchanges and collaborations to advance project implementation in digital technologies, smart manufacturing, and green energy, further elevating the international influence of the BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center. Key agreements finalized at the event include: Luckin Coffee, C&D Merchandise, and Brazil's Cooxupe signed a tripartite procurement plan for Brazilian coffee beans; KION South America entered a strategic partnership with Tractorbel; and Xiamen C&D Group secured a USD 500 million, 500,000-metric-ton iron ore trade agreement with Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) for the next five years.
