On May 16, the ZIM CONDOR departed Xiamen International Container Terminal laden with machinery, building materials, and footwear, inaugurating Fujian's first premium direct route ZAT to Ecuador. Operated exclusively by ZIM Integrated Shipping Services, the ZAT route deploys 11 vessels with 4,000–5,000 TEU capacity on a weekly schedule. Optimized sailing speeds and port rotations reduce transit times from Fujian to South America's west coast by at least 7 days, making it the fastest container route from Fujian to Latin America. As of April, Xiamen Port operates 142 international routes, including 2 to South America serving 11 ports across 5 Latin American nations (3 in South America). The ZAT route marks Xiamen's third South American service.
