During the May 16 opening of the 20th Strait Travel Fair and 10th China (Xiamen) International Leisure Tourism Expo, Xiamen joined eight cities—Guiyang, Guilin, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Taiyuan, Suining, Nanping, and Xiangxi Prefecture—to launch the 240-Hour Transit Visa Exemption Linked Tourism Program. Xiamen, as Fujian's only dual-port city, applies the 240-hour transit visa exemption policy at two designated ports of entry: Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport and Xiamen Port (passenger terminals). Since the optimized 240-hour transit visa policy took effect last year, foreign tourists can enjoy up to 10 days of visa-free stays. Through cross-sector collaboration in dining, accommodation, transportation, and retail, Xiamen aims to unlock broader development space and market opportunities for the cultural tourism industry, while enhancing its global competitiveness by attracting international visitors.
