According to Xiamen Customs, Xiamen's exports to Latin American countries surged to 12.69 billion yuan in the first four months, accounting for 8% of the city's total export value. This marked a 10.2% year-on-year increase and a record high of the same period in history. And Xiamen's exports to Argentina and Costa Rica doubled in volume during this period. Mexico, Brazil and Chile were Xiamen's top three trading partners, with exports valuing 4.4 billion yuan, 2.92 billion yuan and 910 million yuan respectively, collectively making up 64.9% of Xiamen's total exports to Latin America. And high-tech products presented a strong performance. From January to April, Xiamen's export of flat-panel display modules to Latin American countries valued 740 million yuan, increasing for 44.7%; the export of electrical control devices valued 440 million yuan, increasing for 25.1%; the export of automobiles valued 320 million yuan, increasing for 85.8%; and the export of lithium batteries valued 310 million yuan, increasing for 120%.
