National key laboratory in new energy sector established in Xiamen

On April 9, a key laboratory promotion conference organized by the State Administration for Market Regulation marked the substantive launch of the high-energy-density new energy battery safety key laboratory in Xiamen. Approved for establishment in September 2024, the laboratory is led by Xiamen Products Quality Supervision & Inspection Institute, with participation from Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory, Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd., and China Jiliang University. With a total investment exceeding 720 million yuan and spanning over 50,000 square meters, the facility has already secured nearly 150 CNAS national laboratory accreditation standards (covering 60+ product categories) and 130 CMA inspection agency certifications (covering 80+ product categories). As a strategic emerging industry, new energy serves as a critical engine for cultivating new-quality productive forces. Anchored in its "4+4+6" modern industrial framework, Xiamen aims to build a "New Energy Industry Innovation Hub" by strengthening, extending, and complementing industrial chains. The city has attracted leading projects such as CATL, CALB, Hithium Energy Storage, and XTC New Energy, fostering clusters of upstream and downstream enterprises.
