Fujian Province has designated 120 key digital economy projects for 2025, with total investments of 142 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 24.3 billion yuan. Several Xiamen-based projects spanning multiple industries were included. Over recent years, Xiamen has prioritized digital economy development during its innovation-intensive and high-growth phases, focusing on digital industrialization and industrial digitization. From 2021 to 2023, Xiamen's digital economy reached 425 billion yuan, 495.9 billion yuan, and 536.1 billion yuan, respectively, surpassing 500 billion yuan again in 2024 and accounting for over 60% of GDP annually. This sector has become a pivotal driver of high-quality economic and social development. According to CCID Consulting's 2024 China Urban Digital Economy Development Research Report, Xiamen ranked among China's top 100 digital economy cities and secured second place among cities in the digital economy incubation phase.
