Xiamen Port launches new Southeast Asia route

On March 24, the MV SITC Yokohama inaugurated the CPX7 Southeast Asia route at Xiamen's Haitian Wharf, adopting an innovative port rotation pattern that bypasses the perennially congested Manila North Harbour Port for direct access to Iloilo Port in the Philippines. The new route reduces voyage duration from Xiamen to Iloilo from eight days to three, significantly improving logistics efficiency and lowering transport costs for regional supply chains. The CPX7 fills a service gap for direct Xiamen-Iloilo connectivity, reinforcing Xiamen Port's role as an international shipping hub. Operating two 1,100-TEU vessels, the route is projected to add over 500 TEUs weekly to Xiamen’s throughput, aligning with the port's accelerated expansion of Southeast Asia-focused maritime networks.
