This year, Xiamen Gaoqi Border Inspection Station processed nearly 400,000 inbound foreign travelers, marking a year-on-year increase of over 65%. Among them, over 150,000 travelers entered visa-free, accounting for 40% of all foreign arrivals. Additionally, temporary entry permits under the transit visa-free policy were issued to nearly 24,000 eligible travelers. The number of foreign visitors entering through Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport has continued to rise, with Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia, and the United States ranking as the top five countries of origin. Following the expansion of visa-free policies to South Korea and Japan in November, regional proximity has further boosted inbound tourism. Visitors from South Korea and Japan accounted for approximately 15% of all inbound foreign travelers that month, and this figure continues to grow. Meanwhile, Xiamen's international transfer business has maintained strong growth. As of now, over 100,000 travelers from more than 150 countries and regions have benefited from the 24-hour direct transfer policy, which allows transit without border inspection. Daily transfer volumes peaked at over 600 passengers, placing Xiamen second among five airports newly implementing this convenience measure this year.
