Xiamen-BRICS trade reaches 539.4 billion yuan

Recently, Xiamen Customs released data showing that, from the 2017 BRICS Xiamen Summit to the end of September this year, Xiamen's total trade with other BRICS countries reached 539.45 billion yuan, including 361.99 billion yuan in imports and 177.46 billion yuan in exports. Xiamen has seized BRICS cooperation opportunities by leveraging the BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center, enhancing its land, sea, and air transport hubs, building platforms, and opening logistics channels. The city has encouraged businesses to "go global" and "bring in" new opportunities, accelerating market expansion. As trade deepens, milestones include: on July 31, the first BRICS city cross-border e-commerce air route, "Xiamen, China -São Paulo," surpassed 10 million exported parcels this year; on October 18, the direct route between Xiamen and Durban, South Africa—the first direct route between BRICS Summit host cities in China—marked its 10th year of operation, reaching a throughput of 1.114 million TEUs.
