Xiamen possesses a solid foundation and advantages in technological innovation within the advanced strategic materials sector. The city has cultivated three national “Little Giant” enterprises (specializing in niche technologies) and eight municipal-level equivalents. With dedicated parks such as the Torch Graphene New Material Industrial Park, Xiamen has introduced and incubated over 100 graphene-related projects. The city has established R&D and production capabilities in graphene and carbon fiber, with key enterprises such as Knano Graphene, G-CVD Graphene Technology, Stren Composite, Topkey, and Fuhua Technology. Xiamen also boasts innovation platforms including Xiamen University Energy Materials Chemistry Collaborative Innovation Center, Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory, Xiamen Rare Earth Institute, and Huaqiao University. These institutions have driven innovation in areas such as perovskite solar cells, perovskite photovoltaic modules, and liquid metal 3D printing technology.

● High-Performance Carbon Fiber: Focusing on developing high-performance carbon fiber products for aerospace, military, and other high-demand applications; Fostering the growth of industrial-scale production technologies for large-tow, low-cost carbon fiber, and continuously optimize technologies for higher performance and lower costs.
● Graphene Materials: Accelerating the application of graphene in supercapacitors, sensors, new energy batteries, etc.; Focusing on developing graphene products such as supercapacitors, electronic skin, and membranes; Fostering the growth of graphene-based thermal management materials (including heat dissipation materials and thermally conductive composites) and graphene-modified materials; Intensifying R&D efforts in advanced technologies such as chemical vapor deposition (CVD) for graphene film production and novel graphene-based lithium-ion battery technologies.
● Carbon Nanotubes: Focusing on developing single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) powders and conductive pastes, as well as carbon nanotube-reinforced metal matrix composites; Investing in advanced preparation technologies such as floating catalyst chemical vapor deposition (CVD).
● Other Advanced Strategic Materials: Proactively developing ultra-wide bandgap semiconductor materials; Conducting research on all-inorganic perovskites, two-dimensional metal halide perovskites, and high-quality, large-area perovskite films.
