Xiamen bolsters its position as an "Innovation Hub for the New Energy Industry"

As the global consensus shifts towards a green, low-carbon transition, the rise of new foreign trade items, namely electric passenger vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and solar cells, has been notable. Data from Xiamen Customs reveals that from January to November this year, Xiamen's exports of these "new trio" products totaled 42.107 billion yuan, marking a 328% increase compared to the same period last year. Among these, lithium-ion batteries have seen an even more remarkable surge of 452%. These "new trio" products, emblematic of "Xiamen's Intelligent Manufacturing," are increasingly becoming a fresh driving force for the city's foreign trade, reflecting the robust growth of Xiamen's new energy industry. In recent years, the scale of Xiamen's new energy and related industries has exceeded 100 billion yuan, forming two "advantageous chains" in new energy batteries and new power systems. From January to November this year, the new energy industry in Xiamen has continued its rapid growth, with a 32.2% increase year-on-year, making it the largest contributor to the industrial economic growth of the city. Now, Xiamen is aiming to transform into an "Innovation Hub for the New Energy Industry," with plans to become a global epicenter for the energy exchange industry's development.
