Xiamen accelerates development of the Xiamen-Fuzhou-Quanzhou National Comprehensive Freight Hub

As a key project for China's domestic large-scale circulation and dual domestic-international circulation, the Xiamen-Fuzhou-Quanzhou National Comprehensive Freight Hub's chain supplementation and strengthening project, which received an initial funding of 1 billion yuan from the central government in 2022, has recently been awarded an additional 916 million yuan. This major transportation project, planned for implementation from 2022 to 2024, is expected to see an investment of 24.21 billion yuan. It focuses on four major categories: freight hub, feeder transportation, equipment updates, and informatization, comprising 55 projects. Xiamen, positioned as an international comprehensive transportation hub city, has seen significant progress since being selected as one of the first supported cities for the national comprehensive freight hub chain supplementation and strengthening project in 2022. Key projects have already seen nearly 3 billion yuan in investment, with 87 sets of equipment updated and over 400,000 square meters of new hub area added. Additionally, 14.1 kilometers of feeder roads have been constructed.
