Focusing on the goal of building itself into a financial powerhouse, Xiamen is making further efforts to improve the service system of financial institutions, enhance the capability of financial services to the real economy, and establish the finance layout of “two zones and two center” (pilot zone of financial opening-up, demonstration zone of industry-finance integrated development, financial technology development center, and wealth management innovation center). Development priorities will be given to characteristic businesses such as fintech, wealth management, green finance and shipping finance. In 2022, the financial industry contributed an added value of 89.4 billion yuan, accounting for 11.45% of the city's GDP; the revenue reached 191.8 billion yuan, and balance of deposits in RMB and foreign currencies totaled 3.35 trillion yuan. Private equity funds reached over 400 billion yuan in scale. Multiple innovation reforms in green finance have been implemented successfully, and initial results have been seen in the fintech developmen. Xiamen is home to 277 licensed financial institutions engaged in banking, securities and insurance; 19 corporate financial institutions; 442 local financial institutions for small loans, financial leasing and financial guarantees; 95 domestically and globally listed companies; and 339 registered private fund management institutions. The city has created a diversified financial service system with wide-ranging functions and a high level of operating efficiency. Representative enterprises include: Xiamen Bank, Xiamen International Bank, Xiamen Rural Commercial Bank, Great Wall Glory Securities, King Dragon Life, Fubon Property Insurance, Jinyuan President Securities, etc.
