Xiamen and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. (COMAC) held a signing ceremony of the strategic partnership framework agreement on the afternoon of April 20. Hu Changsheng, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, and mayor Zhuang Jiahan met with Zhao Yuerang, deputy secretary of the CPC Committee and general manager of COMAC, and his delegation to have in-depth exchanges on promoting bilateral cooperation and witness the signing of the agreement.
Aiming at boosting the development of China's aviation industry and serving the strategy of home-made large passenger aircraft, the two sides followed the aviation maintenance industry foundation in Xiamen and COMAC's advantages in this aspect to conduct in-depth cooperation in the areas of full aircraft maintenance & modification, parts and accessories manufacturing & maintenance, home-made commercial aircraft market introduction, large aircraft parts localization base, aviation materials support, aviation personnel training, and industry-finance integration, etc.
Hu noted that the aviation industry is an important industry that Xiamen strives to develop, which is growing in scale and is currently the largest "one-stop" aviation maintenance base in China. Xiamen is now making every effort in the construction of Xiang'an International Airport and the layout of airport industry. It is hoped that this signing will be a catalyst for both sides, on the basis of the existing good cooperation, to deepen communication, strengthen strategic coordination, push for early implementation of cooperation projects, and join hands to contribute more to the development of China's aviation industry.
Huang Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee and executive vice mayor, and Cheng Fubo, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and deputy general manager of COMAC, signed the agreement on behalf of both sides and attended the meeting. The municipal governmental leader Ni Chao attended the signing and meeting.
