41 Xiamen companies join the "Billion Yuan Import-Export Club"

Recently, Xiamen Customs released the foreign trade import and export data for the first quarter of the year. According to the statistics, the total value of Xiamen's imports and exports reached 225.44 billion yuan, with imports valued at 117.7 billion yuan and exports at 107.74 billion yuan, indicating a relatively stable overall performance.

In the first quarter, Xiamen's foreign trade showcased several distinctive features: rapid development of emerging business models, strong vitality of market entities, a broad layout of trade partners, outstanding performance of high-tech products, and significant advantages in specialty products. Notably, the value of imports and exports through the cross-border e-commerce supervision platform reached 10.64 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 117.8%, marking the highest level for the same period in history and accounting for 4.7% of the total import and export value, also an all-time high.

Additionally, Xiamen's import and export data led the nation in multiple categories. In the first quarter, Xiamen ranked first in China for the import of raw stone materials at 1.512 million tons and coal at 15.409 million tons; it also led in the import of aircraft parts valued at 5.11 billion yuan and supervised the entry and exit repairs of 106 aircraft. Similarly, Xiamen topped the national charts with granite exports of 231,000 tons and tungsten product exports worth 310 million yuan.

It is noteworthy that during this period, the number of foreign trade enterprises in Xiamen with import and export records reached 11,318, the highest for the same period in history. Among these, 41 enterprises had import and export values exceeding one billion yuan. Private enterprises' import and export value amounted to 112.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%, accounting for 49.8% of the total value; foreign-invested enterprises continued their positive trend since December last year, with 78 new registrations and an import and export value of 49.92 billion yuan, up 6.6% year-on-year, representing 22.1% of the total. Additionally, state-owned enterprises contributed an import and export value of 63.27 billion yuan, accounting for 28.1% of the total.
