Convenient Air Transportation

Xiamen Airport, one of the six major airports in Chinese mainland, has formed a global airline network that covers main cities of Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and links to the countries and regions in Europe, North America, Oceania and Asia. Xiamen has introduced the "144-hour Visa-free Transit" policy which targets citizens from 53 countries and regions.

So far, Xiamen Airport has opened 174 inter-city air lines, including 35 international (regional) and 6 intercontinental air lines linking Australia, Canada, Netherlands and the U.S. Its air routes currently reach 29 international and overseas cities (including Hong Kong, Macao, Taipei and Kaohsiung).

The Xiang'an International Airport, which is currently in construction, is expected to be built into an international and regional hub airport on the southeast coast of China and to realize a passenger throughput of 85 million by 2025.

Efficient Land Transportation Hub

Xiamen is a railway hub city on the southeast coast of China and has two stations, Xiamen Railway Station and Xiamen North Railway Station. Through Shenyang-Haikou Expressway, Xiamen-Chengdu Expressway, Xiamen-Shaxian Expressway and urban expressways, Xiamen realizes seamless connection with the expressway network in the center and west of Chinese mainland.

By now, the construction of Yingtan-Xiamen Railway, Fuzhou-Xiamen Railway, Xiamen-Shenzhen Railway and Longyan-Xiamen Railway has all been completed, and it takes only five hours to travel from Xiamen to Shanghai by train, three hours to Shenzhen and two hours to Fuzhou. At present, planning and construction of Fuzhou-Xiamen High-speed Rail and Xiamen-Zhangzhou-Quanzhou Intercity Rail Transit is being accelerated.

China-Europe (Xiamen) Freight Railway Services

Xiamen is the only land and sea hub city that realizes connection with "the Belt" and "the Road" areas. It has now opened freight rail services to 34 cities in 12 countries in Europe, Central Asia and Russia. Through sea-railway combined transportation, cargoes are able to be transported to ASEAN and European countries. Besides, new logistics channels linking Central Europe, Central Asia and Russia are formed, in which the Central Europe trunk line runs through Malaszewicze, with three branch lines reaching Hamburg, Duisburg and Budapest.

 

Developed shipping transportation Hub

Xiamen is one of the four major international shipping centers, and a logistics center city in the southeast of China. There are 152 container shipping routes, including 101 international routes (69 Maritime Silk Road routes). Xiamen Port now has 175 productive berths available (including Zhangzhou), including 80 berths of more than 10,000 tons; and the port handled 213 million tons of cargo for the whole year. The container throughput of the port was 11.4053 million TEUs in 2020. Xiamen Port is now running international shipping routes from Far East to the Mediterranean, Europe, and North America via Taiwan Strait, which covers 129 ports in 48 countries and regions. Xiamen Port is a comprehensive hub for direct shipping servies between Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
