New materials are the foundation of the manufacturing industry, and also a billion-yuan industry chain that Xiamen focuses on developing. Since the beginning of this year, Xiamen's new material enterprises have received a continuous flow of orders. These enterprises have, on the one hand, increased their research and development efforts, and on the other hand, accelerated the construction of new production lines, continuously improving the level of industrial cluster development and accelerating high-quality development. Currently, Xiamen's new material industry has formed a pattern of five characteristic industries: special metals and functional materials, optoelectronic information materials, advanced polymers and composite materials, new energy materials, and advanced carbon materials. According to data from the Xiamen New Materials Industry Association, in 2022, Xiamen's new material enterprises above a certain scale achieved a total industrial output value of 125.8 billion yuan, an increase of 17.1% compared to 2021.
