On the morning of May 13th, Haicang Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone, located in Haicang Park, Xiamen Free Trade Zone, was inaugurated. This is the second comprehensive bonded zone outside the customs in Xiamen following the Xiangyu Bonded Zone. Haicang Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone is the predecessor of Xiamen Haicang Bonded Port Zone. In 2020, the import and export volume of the Zone reached 30.1 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of 19.0%. Haicang Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone will give full play to the advantages of its multiple functions and the agglomeration effect of platforms such as Xiamen China-Europe Railway Express, cubilose platform, gold industrial park and vehicle port. Five centers will be established, covering international distribution, processing and manufacturing, testing and maintenance, R&D design, and sales and services. It aims to become an important platform for open economic development. At the inauguration ceremony, contracts were signed for 21 key projects with a total investment of 10.9 billion yuan.
