The 6th BRICS Industry Ministers Meeting held in Xiamen

On May 23, the 6th BRICS Industry Ministers Meeting, presided over by Xiao Yaqing, the Minister of Industry and Information Technology, was held in Xiamen in the form of a video conference. Ministerial officers of the industrial sector from South Africa, Brazil, Russia, India, and other countries attended the meeting. They had in-depth discussions around how to deepen cooperative cooperation under the new industrial revolution and boost stronger, healthier, more robust, and more sustainable development. Also, together they made the Joint Declaration of the Sixth BRICS Industry Ministers Meeting. During the meeting, BRICS representatives exchanged opinions on strengthening all-sided cooperation, promoting the digital transformation of traditional industries, beefing up cooperation in industrial chains and supply chains, and improving industrial development capabilities. Since the first session in 2015, the meeting has established a partnership of new industrial revolution among BRICS nations, set up the BRICS Innovation Base, and gradually shown practical results of industrial cooperation among BRICS nations. The Joint Declaration encouraged all BRICS nations to deepen industrial cooperation among BRICS nations, jointly create an open, fair, dynamic, and resilient development environment, construct a stable, secure, and mutually beneficial industrial chain and supply chain, and accelerate the industrial and economic recovery and growth.
