Recently, Beijing Union University and Social Sciences Academic Press held a press conference on the Green Book of Urban Leisure and Tourism Competitiveness: China's Urban Leisure and Tourism Competitiveness Report (2020). The report named the top 30 cities in terms of urban leisure and tourism competitiveness in China, where Xiamen took ninth place. This green book pioneers in China in studying "urban leisure competitiveness" and "urban tourism competitiveness" as conjugated impetus in parallel. By studying three aspects of competitiveness, including basic elements, efficiency enhancement, innovation and maturity, three groups of top 30 cities were selected. The report then integrated the above three indicators to arrive at the ultimate top 30 cities nationwide regarding urban leisure and tourism competitiveness.
