By the end of this year, Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport will officially enter service, taking over all passenger and cargo operations from Gaoqi International Airport. The center of gravity of Xiamen's air logistics industry will shift eastward from Xiamen Island to the Xiang'an Airport area. As a critical supporting facility, the southern cargo area of Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport will open simultaneously. The main structure of the project has now been completed, and the installation of mechanical and electrical equipment is progressing steadily. The southern cargo area integrates an international cargo terminal, an express handling center, a cross-border e-commerce center, an international mail center, and a public inspection center, bringing multiple functions together in a single park. The cargo area of Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport is divided into southern and northern zones based on geographical location. According to the construction plan, planning for the northern cargo area is being accelerated, while the southern cargo area, which was built first, comprises the Iport Cargo Terminal, the Air Road Cargo Terminal, and related express and cross-border e-commerce cargo facilities operated by Iport Air Service, as well as an international mail and cargo inspection center, covering a total area of approximately 510,000 square meters.
