New Xiamen-Cape Town SSTL route opens

On June 18, a shipment of outdoor goods valued at 200,000 yuan and marked "SSTL" cleared customs at Dongdu Customs under Xiamen Customs and departed aboard the cargo vessel "AN YANG 118" bound for Cape Town, South Africa, marking the official opening of a new China-South Africa Smart and Secure Trade Lane (hereinafter "SSTL") pilot route. This is the second SSTL route between China and other BRICS countries, following the Xiamen-Durban SSTL route in South Africa. From January to May this year, Xiamen's total imports and exports with South Africa reached 5.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 47.2%, with exports of agricultural machinery and other products growing rapidly.
