Data from the Gaoqi Border Inspection Station of the Xiamen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection shows that as of June 15, inbound and outbound passenger traffic at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport had exceeded 2 million this year, up 6% year on year, reaching the milestone nine days earlier than last year and setting a new record for the period. Supported by the visa-free policy, customs clearance has been continuously streamlined and processing times shortened, delivering simpler procedures and greater efficiency. Visa-free entries by foreign nationals surpassed 170,000, an increase of more than 35% year on year. As "China Travel" continues to trend globally, Xiamen, with its coastal scenery and distinctive Minnan culture, has drawn a large number of overseas visitors for sightseeing and leisure. Data show that over 70% of inbound foreign travelers came for tourism or to visit relatives and friends, with family trips and individual leisure travel emerging as the dominant travel patterns.
