In May at Xiamen Tongxiang High-Tech Town, CALB's high-performance lithium battery project (Phase III Stage 2) entered final pre-operation preparations while Phase III Stage 3 commenced construction. Simultaneously, major developments emerged: CATL established CATL Resources in Xiamen to extend upstream material supply chains; local unicorn Hithium plans to build a large-scale energy storage battery plant in Spain. As Xiamen's core new energy hub, the Xiamen Torch Development Zone for High Technology Industries hosts industry leaders including CATL Xiamen, CALB, Hithium, Zhongneng Ruixin, Kehua Data, and Ampace, targeting over RMB 100 billion output value by 2025. Current planned power and energy storage battery capacity in the zone reaches 355GWh (gigawatt-hours).
