UK Business Delegation visits CIFIT Organizing Committee for in-depth talks with Xiamen enterprises

On the afternoon of the 20th, British Consul General in Guangzhou, Sarah Mann, led a UK business delegation to visit the organizing committee of the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT). This marks the first time the UK with the return visit of the committee as a Guest Country of Honor. UK enterprises held discussions with Xiamen-based companies for in-depth business matching and exchanges. During the 25th CIFIT, the UK set records for the highest investment and participation level as a Guest Country in its history of attending Chinese exhibitions. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer sent a congratulatory letter, and British Ambassador to China, Caroline Wilson, led a delegation of over 300 participants, including around 100 institutions and enterprises such as AstraZeneca and HSBC, covering key sectors like life sciences, financial services, advanced manufacturing, and digital technology. Over the four-day fair, the 408-square-meter UK National Pavilion attracted over 11,000 visitors. More than 30 business events were held intensively, with media coverage reaching an audience exceeding 6.1 million. Chinese and UK companies signed multiple commercial agreements, reaching cooperation intentions exceeding £200 million. They established solid cooperative relationships in fields including aviation, energy storage, healthcare, and education. UK-based Invinity Energy Systems signed an agreement with Xiamen C&D to establish an intelligent manufacturing center for energy storage batteries. Sarah Mann spoke highly of the business environment in Xiamen and Fujian Province as a whole. Both sides expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation during the talks.
