On the morning of the 24th, at Haitong Terminal, the MSC-operated vessel MSC SIXIN sounded its horn as loading operations began, marking Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) 2025 throughput in Xiamen Port surpassing 1 million TEUs. The MSC SIXIN, measuring 399.7 meters in length with a deadweight tonnage exceeding 200,000, exemplifies the trend toward larger, more efficient container ships globally. Xiamen Container Terminal Group handled over 300 MSC vessel calls this year, achieving an average berth productivity of 110+ natural containers per hour—a record high. In recent years, MSC has maintained stable east-west shipping routes in Xiamen while ramping up capacity in 2025, expanding services across Southeast Asia, Oceania, and Europe. Currently, MSC operates 11 routes from Xiamen, connecting key markets including Europe, the U.S. East Coast, South America, and the Middle East, providing Fujian and neighboring businesses with a fast and reliable gateway to global trade.
