Recently, the 2024 Fujian Provincial Science and Technology Awards were officially announced, with 191 scientific and technological achievements receiving honors. Among these, 79 awards were secured by entities from Xiamen, accounting for over 40% of the total provincial awards. The winning projects span multiple key fields including new materials, new energy, biomedicine, and electronic information. These 79 achievements from Xiamen closely align with the city's "4+4+6" modern industrial system construction layout, with key technological breakthroughs concentrated in core segments of the industrial chain. Enterprises from Xiamen led or participated in 58 of the awarded projects, representing 73% of the city's total awards. For instance, several projects spearheaded by leading companies such as Sanan Semiconductor and HiTHIUM have effectively bridged the innovation chain with the industrial chain through collaborative research with institutions like Xiamen University. The only two recipients of the Science and Technology Major Contribution Award in the entire province are both from Xiamen: Academician Jiao Nianzhi and Academician Zheng Lansun from Xiamen University. Furthermore, Professor Zhang Aiqiang from the Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory received the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
