Recently, Xiamen-based SGR Semiconductors Inc., specializing in millimeter-wave radar chips, completed its Series C1 funding round. Designated as a national-level specialized, refinement, differential and innovation (SRDI) SME, the company has established a product matrix covering 24 GHz, 60 GHz, and 77 GHz millimeter-wave radar chips. In July, it secured a project with a leading Tier-1 supplier to develop "foot-sensing tailgate opening" technology for a major automaker. As a critical sensor technology, millimeter-wave radar offers high-precision detection, all-weather operation, and strong anti-interference capabilities. Leveraging these strengths, multiple Xiamen-based enterprises are accelerating deployment in fields like autonomous driving, low-altitude economy, and elderly-care solutions, driving scalable implementation. For instance, SINPRO (focusing on automotive-grade 4D imaging radar) achieved breakthroughs, while Xiamen Quanthium Technology Co., Ltd. integrates AI with millimeter-wave radar for smart elderly care applications.
