On November 5, 2025, Xiamen City celebrated a big win as two of its industrial clusters made it to the national list for specialized clusters of small and medium-sized enterprises. The Smart Power Transmission and Distribution Industry Cluster in Xiang'an District was selected for the 2025 (fourth batch) list, while the Industrial Robot Industry Cluster in Jimei District successfully passed the 2022 (first batch) review. The Xiang'an District cluster, anchored by key players like ABB, includes 95 companies and stands as China's largest manufacturing hub for mid-to-high-end and low-to-medium voltage switchgear. Impressively, it holds an 80% global market share in high-end medium-voltage switchgear. Meanwhile, the Jimei District cluster is home to over 200 enterprises, both upstream and downstream, creating robust industrial chains in fields such as machinery manufacturing, electronic information, light industry and textiles, new energy storage and systems, and new energy commercial vehicles. It has nurtured and attracted a range of "enterprises that use specialized and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products", along with various upstream and downstream companies in the industrial robot sector, with several hidden champions leading the way.
