On November 3, precision medical instruments from Europe and Southeast Asia awaited repair at Plexus (Xiamen) Co., Ltd.'s medical equipment maintenance workshop. As China's inaugural hub for global bonded maintenance of medical devices, over 131 medical signal processing modules have been repaired and returned globally within a year. This breakthrough stems from policy innovations jointly promoted by the Xiamen Area of Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone (XMFTZ) administrative committee, Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and Xiamen Customs. These efforts established a cross-departmental supervision mechanism, created global maintenance electronic ledgers, and implemented digital oversight through ERP connectivity, marking a critical shift from "product export" to "service export." Under optimized regulatory frameworks, Xiamen's bonded maintenance services have expanded into a diversified ecosystem covering earphones, computer components, medical devices, and automotive parts. Xiamen's global one-stop aviation maintenance base has become China's largest inbound aviation maintenance hub through institutional innovations, leading in international aviation repair volumes. The XMFTZ administrative committee will extend bonded maintenance models to broader sectors, cultivating new competitive advantages for foreign trade.
