Xiamen's export growth outpaces provincial, national averages in first three quarters

In the first three quarters of this year, Xiamen achieved import-export volume totaling RMB 712.61 billion, a 3% year-on-year increase. Exports performed notably, reaching RMB 402.15 billion with 9.4% growth, outpacing both Fujian Province and national averages. Private enterprises excelled, recording foreign trade of RMB 393.28 billion, a 15.4% rise, accounting for 55.2% of Xiamen’s total trade volume and providing core support for steady growth. Foreign-invested enterprises handled RMB 169.66 billion (up 3.2%, 23.8% share), while state-owned enterprises accounted for RMB 149.49 billion (21% share). Xiamen traded with 230 countries and regions across five continents during this period. ASEAN, the EU, and the US were top three partners, collectively representing 44.1% of total trade volume, with trade to ASEAN and the EU maintaining growth. Xiamen’s exports to non-US markets rose 15.1% overall, including over 20% growth to Belt and Road partner countries and double-digit growth to RCEP members and fellow BRICS nations. Exports to Africa and Latin America surged 48.7% and 17.7% respectively, demonstrating enhanced trade resilience.
