In early 2025, the first "green bonded maintenance" project for medical devices in China, a collaborative initiative between GE Healthcare China and Plexus Electronics (Xiamen), was officially launched in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone. The project leverages Plexus' global bonded maintenance qualifications for medical equipment, in conjunction with GE Healthcare's substantial expertise in the development of domestic supply chains for high-end medical devices. It aims to provide superior global medical equipment maintenance services while systematically reducing carbon emissions and resource waste through the implementation of green innovation technologies. As one of the earliest multinational corporations to enter China and a leader in facilitating significant impactful growth, GE Healthcare has built six major manufacturing bases in China, with Fujian standing as a critical hub in its supply chain strategy. Currently, GE Healthcare has established a comprehensive "industry-academia-research-application" ecosystem in Fujian covering CT, MR, nuclear medicine, and other fields, forming a complete end-to-end cycle that spans from collaborative research to the commercialization of products.
